Ayurvedic Colour therapy is one of them.
Colours play very crucial role in our lives. They have a healing effect on our mind and body. Indian sages have found long ago the miraculous healing powers of colours. Atharva Veda has also mentioned Surya Kiran Chikitsa (Sun Ray Treatment). Colour therapy has been used in ancient Egypt and China. This ancient treatment method has become popular in the modern world with a new term called Chromotherapy.
As per Ayurveda seven colours of the rainbow are connected with Seven Chakras (Energy Centre) of our body, so with the proper use of different colours we can eliminate various physical and mental ailments. For example, Green is helpful in the treatment of Pituitary problems while red is useful in treating liver disorders. Five elements of our body are also associated with different colours. Naturopaths also use a combination of colour and nature elements to treat a patient.
Colours are used to treat patients in different ways. Ayurveda physician encloses their patients in coloured clothes as per the aliment and the nature of the person, for example, depression patients are warped in Red or Orange clothes
